A comic I drew on fighting procrastination.

www.doodlealley.com

I’ve been working on my Procrastination Problem. I’ve got a ridiculously busy Fall term coming up. So I’m drawing inspiration from this guy and his awesome comics.

I really need to print this out and put it on my wall or something, cause this is a major issue for me. Perhaps I’ll get a calendar too.

"I need feminism because… There are more MPs called Dave than female MPs"Yeah. Fuck you, Dave. How dare you study politics and take an interest in leadership roles. What a selfish bastard you are, for pursuing a career that supports your country and keeps it from descending into anarchy. Fuck you, Dave, because it is entirely your fault that women aren’t as inclined to pursue leadership roles like being a Member of Parliament. Women want more representation in politics, but none of them actually want to take on the responsibility of representation themselves; they want someone else to do it for them. "Too many men," they say. "There are just too many Daves. This isn’t fair." Newsflash, Dave, you are a man. You are solely responsible for women avoiding politics. There are too many of you. Whatever you do, Dave, it means shit. No one is going to look up to you. Who gives a damn about your leadership skills, your integrity or honesty? You won’t ever be an inspiration or motivation for women pursuing politics, simply because you don’t have a vagina between your legs. As we all know, women only respect and admire other women.  Holy shit, Dave, you didn’t think about that, did you?

Actually, here in the UK I think you’re right, Dave is responsible for this. Only 23% of MPs are women while Dave Cameron’s cabinet includes just 5 women. in fact when these women try to voice their opinions on platforms such as question time they receive such sexist abuse that the House of Commons speaker John Bercow, has said that some women MPs have told him that the atmosphere at Prime Minister’s Questions is so bad that they no longer attend.

But wait, not just Dave..

Another politician labour MP Austin Mitchell actually believed that allowing more women MPs into his party would ultimately weaken it as ‘women MPs are more amenable and leadable and less objectionable” than their male counterparts.’

This year study by The Counting Women, showed Women are under-represented at all levels of politics from the Cabinet to the town hall, which means Britain is a mere 65th in a global league table of female representation.

Obviously this is because women can’t be bothered with the responsibility of representation themselves;

Nothing to do with the fact that;

The public face of politics is still overwhelmingly male. Media coverage of politics is also depressingly sexist, with frequent commentary on what women politicians wear & whether or not they’re married. Obviously, this has nothing to do with the fact political editors of the BBC ITV and SKY are also men.

And the factThere have been numerous scandals where women have been the victims of sexual harassment during their time at Westminster and have been afraid to come forward because they believe it will cost them their career.

This paints a wonderful picture of an institution that doesn’t want or welcome women. With little and much derided representation it is very hard for a women to imagine herself as a world leader, much less go out and pursue her goal

To quote the fawcett society;

Women have a right to participate in decisions that affect our lives, it’s a matter of good governance institutions are representative.

Hey Dragon Age fans - here’s a handy hint for anyone who feels like making a ‘Not all mages’ joke and tagging it with Anders.

Just don’t, ok.

Can’t handle the fact that your precious is an asshole? Sad, sad.

No, it’s mostly that the joke has been done…

Ugh, love dragon age hate these stupid anders wars. Both sides should bitch about something worthwhile like the Notallmen hash tag rather then the notallmages one.

Which Shakespeare Character Are You? | Quiz Social

Here’s another Which Character quiz. This one got me Brutus and has Henry VI as an option for which play one might wish to see, so it’s hopeful for minor characters and Histories.

eh, tu, Rune? I got Brutus, too!

I got Bottom. I feel like a disappointment now. Everyone else got cool and reasonable people, and I got Bottom. *goes to hide under my bed and feel terrible*

This was a terrible quiz, there were at least three equally-good options for every single question, and as for ‘which play do you want to see’ - ALL OF THEM I WANT TO SEE ALL OF THEM.

I got cleopatra. Which is cool, though I wanted beatrice or lady Macbeth
